Professional Background

Initially, Rachel worked in Sales for Facebook, targeting small and medium-sized businesses. She later transitioned into an Account Management role within an events services company. Since joining CanIRank, Rachel has worked with a wide array of clients ranging from a niche ecommerce store selling custom cuckoo clocks to SaaS businesses selling inventory management software.

Rachel’s primary specialization at CanIRank is in optimizing content for peak SEO performance. She also has experience running promotional campaigns for ecommerce clients — generating content ideas, understanding clients’ core values, and subsequently making recommendations to improve the information architecture and content of their websites.

Rachel also recently became Google Ads certified and has diversified her services to paid ads campaigns for clients. Making paid campaigns complements her on-page optimizations specialization as she continues to learn new strategies for uncovering the “golden” keywords for her clients.

Lightning Round Q&A with Rachel:

  • What’s your favorite part of working with clients at CanIRank?
  • “The diversity of clients that I work with at CanIRank means that no two days are ever the same. I switch between writing copy and optimizing a page about sparring gloves, to writing guest posts about bedroom lighting. Each client has unique needs which require creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to identify a solution that will bring the client the best results.”
  • How does working remotely increase your productivity?
  • “I love working remotely. Again, the diversity in the hours and place of work keeps my mind alert. Nothing ever gets monotonous. I sometimes switch “offices” two or three times a day, often from my home office, to a local cafe, and maybe venture further in the city to find a new “office.” The flexibility in my day allows me to step out and go for a run or a swim if I feel my productivity levels are lagging. That just isn’t possible in a typical 9-5 office environment.”
  • What is one personal goal you want to accomplish in the next year?
  • To live part-time in the countryside (of course with high-speed Internet connection)!
  • What is your favorite weekend activity?
  • Road cycling
  • Who has had the most significant impact on your life?
  • My mother
  • What is your favorite type of food?
  • “That’s a tough one! I’d have to say a tie between Japanese (sushi mainly) and Peruvian food.”
  • What is your favorite place in the world?
  • “Barcelona and the entire Catalonia region. I love having the most gorgeous terrain — the Spanish countryside just outside my doorstep. The sea and mountains are both within minutes from my apartment!”
